What We Do
Confession Box Collective was set up by two Irish artists, Niamh McPhilips and Sarah Deane.
Confession Box Collective is a space where artists of all disciplines can create and perform their work. This space was created because, as young artists, we found it difficult to obtain funding, and create work without funding. Confession Box Collective was founded from a desire to produce our own work while also helping emerging artists who have not obtained funding to showcase their work.

Original Works
Confession Box Collective’s first original staged production ‘Static Women’ was a work in progress. We developed “Static Women” as much as possible before hitting a creative block, however, we knew that the work was not finished. We had the idea of performing ‘Static Women’ in its incomplete state to others, to receive critique and feedback. Having the opportunity to perform ‘Static Women’ in the Rua Red Theatre gave audiences members an insight into what this work would look like when completed. Receiving feedback was a vital part of developing ‘Static Women’ that allowed us to further develop the work in ways that we had not thought about before.
The work in progress performance was a wonderful success that gave us fantastic feedback and opportunities to connect with people. It has not only helped us develop ‘Static Women’ further, but also as artists and creatives.
Due to how successful our first Work in progress performance was, we want to provide this opportunity to others to perform their original works. This is what our ‘Work in Progress Performance’ is all about and we want you to be a part of it.

Work Experience
At Confession Box Collective we are providing the opportunity to gain experience in sound, lighting, camera operating, photography, make-up and stagehand work. This is great for transition year students as well as third level students studying in these fields. This opportunity will allow you to gain experience in these fields, while also gaining recognition and exposure for your work through our website and social media platforms. This opportunity is unpaid.
If you are interested in joining our team for work experience, email us today. We look forward to working with you!
